Calling All Service Dogs! Free Eye Exams
Board-certified veterinary ophthalmologists at BluePearl hospitals are participating in the 3rd annual ACVO/Merial National Service Dog Eye Exam event during the month of May. Our veterinary ophthalmologists will volunteer their time to perform eye screening examinations to qualifying service dogs, no charges apply.
Dogs that qualify include: handicapped assistance dogs, detection dogs, police dogs, search and rescue dogs, and therapy dogs that are Delta Society certified. Dogs must be active ‘working dogs’ that were certified by a formal training program or organization or currently enrolled in a formal training program. Registration for the event will begin April 1, 2010.
HOW TO REGISTER FOR THE 2010 EVENT:
To qualify, dogs must be active “working dogs” that were certified by a formal training program or organization or currently enrolled in a formal training program. The certifying organization could be national, regional or local in nature. Specific service dog groups are listed on the website at www.ACVOeyeexam.org. Registration ends May 16th.
