Internships

ROTATING INTERNSHIPS

BluePearl Veterinary Partners offers a 1 year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery for the graduated veterinarian at several of our specialty and referral hospitals throughout the country.  These internship programs are designed to further the knowledge and experience received in veterinary school or previous experience in a private practice setting. The programs provide a broad clinical experience under the supervision of board certified specialists in internal medicine, surgery, emergency/critical care, ophthalmology, neurology, oncology, dermatology, anesthesia, cardiology, radiology, exotics/wildlife, nutrition, dentistry and behavior (specialties offered are location dependent).  Rotating interns are expected to participate in daily clinical rounds, present formal rounds, manage specialty surgical and medical cases, receive and manage emergency cases and communicate with colleagues and clients.  Whether a candidate is seeking a residency for specialty board certification or to become an exceptional clinician in private practice, BluePearl rotating internships are designed to give the intern a diverse high quality clinical experience within a vibrant and supportive hospital culture.

SPECIALTY INTERNSHIPS

BluePearl also offers a variety of specialty internships that provide advanced clinical training including surgery, emergency/critical care, internal medicine, neurology, dermatology, ophthalmology, and cardiology.  These structured, 1 year specialty internships are geared for individuals that have already completed a one year rotating small animal internship program. The specialty internship provides a unique experience, giving the candidate an ability to learn from board certified diplomats within their individual BluePearl practice with access to the extensive network of BluePearl practices and board certified specialists across the country.  This opportunity will prepare the specialty intern for a residency program, advanced private practice, or other opportunities including a position in industry, government, or graduate work.  Specialty interns may also benefit from research opportunities, manuscripts preparation for publication, lecture opportunities, clinical case evaluation, advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, formal rounds, lectures and communication experience.  Specific specialty internship programs can be found below.
