ABOUT THE COMPETITION
We know that America loves its pets. We also know that 54 percent of cats and dogs in the U.S. are overweight and, like in humans, that can lead to major health issues like heart and respiratory disease, diabetes, osteoarthritis and other serious, life-shortening disorders.
To help your pet lose these extra pounds, we are happy to introduce “The Biggest Shedder” national weight loss competition. The “Biggest Shedder” weight loss competition is a fun way for you to help your pet shed the pounds needed to lead a healthier life.
We, and the furry friend next to you, believe you should be rewarded for taking steps to give your pet a better quality of life. So, if you decide to join the competition, you will be entered into a drawing to win prizes for each weigh-in you complete for your pet.

PRIZES
Grand Prize – One year’s worth of pet food, compliments of Hill’s Pet Nutrition, for the winning pet and an iPad, compliments of Trupanion, for the you!
Other Prizes – You can win prizes, provided by Pfizer Animal Health, at each weigh-in. Those prizes include PetSmart gift cards, toy baskets, a luxurious pet bed and designer pet gear.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Step 1: Make an appointment with your family veterinarian to determine a) if your pet is overweight, and if so, b) how much your pet needs to lose, c) a reasonable goal to reach by June 14, and d) a plan to help your pet lose weight.
Step 2: Take your pet to your family veterinarian’s office every two weeks for a quick weigh-in. Then post your pet’s progress at each of six weigh-ins for a chance to win a prize! Enter Weigh-in #6 for a chance to win a luxurious pet bed for your cat or dog from now until May 24.
Step 3: If your cat or dog has reached his or her June 14 weight loss goal, post your pet’s picture and info at our final weigh-in for a chance to win the grand prize – one year’s worth of pet food for the winning pet and and iPad for you!
