A trial evaluating the efficacy and safety of an investigational oral medication for the treatment of hypothyroidism in dogs

Trial Funding

All study-required diagnostics and evaluations, as well as the investigational medication, will be provided to the client at no charge.

Trial Eligibility

  1. Be newly diagnosed with (or be suspected to have) hypothyroidism.
  2. Be naïve to thyroid supplementation.
  3. Have at least one clinical sign of hypothyroidism (e.g., overweight, lethargic, decreased appetite, cold intolerance, skin disease, etc.).
  4. Have no serious concurrent diseases.
  5. Not on medications that may interfere with diagnostics (steroids, tricyclic antidepressants, phenobarbital, sulfonamide antibiotics, etc.).

Owners must be able to present their dog for up to 7 visits over a 6-month period for examination and blood sampling.
