• Here’s something you might not know – Kansas City has more fountains than Rome, more than 200 in all. City planners in the 1800s filled Kansas City with parks, wide boulevards and public squares filled with decorative water displays. We think it adds a certain European flair to our city.

• New Orleans may get more attention, but Kansas City is also a hotbed of jazz. Legends like Count Basie, Coleman Hawkins and Charlie Parker all jammed frequently in Kansas City clubs.

• Our people are nice. Polite, kind and respectful are terms frequently used to describe Kansas City residents.

• Kansas City has top-rated public schools with excellent universities in and close to Kansas City. The University of Kansas is less than an hour away.

Cultural attractions abound, including The Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, the Kauffman Performing Arts Center, The Kansas City Art Institute, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and the American Jazz Museum to name a few.
