Cancer screening study (dogs).
Study details.
Our screening test is a multi-cancer early detection (MCED) liquid biopsy test that may detect cancer with a simple blood draw. Small fragments of DNA are released into the bloodstream from normal cells as part of the normal lifecycle of all cells. If cancer is present in the body, the tumor cells also release small fragments of their DNA into the bloodstream. These fragments can be detected and analyzed with a technology called Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), which looks at millions of these fragments of DNA in the blood. If a unique cancer signal is present in the sample, this is consistent with the presence of a malignant tumor in the body. The duration will be the lifetime of the participating dogs.
