Dr. Jared Brethouwer enjoys all aspects of emergency medicine and has a special interest in cardiopulmonary medicine and blood disorders.

Dr. Brethouwer is the medical director of all BluePearl Pet Hospitals in the greater Phoenix area.

An outdoor enthusiast, Dr. Brethouwer likes kayaking, fishing and volleyball. Indoor pastimes include reading and cooking.

An experienced senior emergency clinician, Dr. Dino Herrera’s special interests include traumatology, reconstructive soft tissue surgery and many types of emergency soft tissue surgery.

Dr. Herrera grew up in various parts of Mexico and has traveled extensively throughout the United States, Mexico, Central America and Europe. Along with travel, he enjoys photography and spending time with his family and pets, Dante, an English bulldog, and Fernando, a Sphinx cat.

Dr. Kathryn McAdam finds many aspects of emergency work satisfying, but her favorite cases are foreign body surgeries. She also likes treating cats with urinary obstructions and removing foxtails, a spiny weed, from pets’ body parts.

Dr. McAdam and her husband have four children, a dog and two cats, all of whom she loves spending time with. She also enjoys sewing, reading, researching family history and playing games.

Dr. Allison Reeder completed her internship in small animal medicine and surgery and is now working full time in emergency medicine. She has a special interest in wound management, pain management and neurology.

Dr. Reeder likes being on the water, especially paddle boarding and kayaking. She has a lab mix and border collie and two conure birds.

Dr. Alyssa Thomas’ clinical interests include infectious disease and autoimmune conditions.
