Why a puppy rescued in Texas made news in Virginia

Muna the puppy was rescued from the floodwaters of Hurricane Harvey and brought to safety in Virginia. You’d think that would be enough danger for one dog’s life. But it turned out Muna had a defect known as a vascular ring anomaly, restricting her ability to ingest food. Little Muna wasn’t out of the woods yet.

Fortunately her rescuers are not the kind who give up easily. They raised money and turned to BluePearl. Board-certified veterinary surgeon Dr. Anemone Andronescu performed an operation to correct the problem, and Virginia media stepped in to cover the heartwarming story. Read about it here.
