She was released to members of the Hardee Animal Rescue Team at 3 p.m. on Tuesday. HART will continue to look after Hope until she is fully recovered. She will return to BluePearl periodically to have her progress monitored, but will receive her daily treatment at the Hardee Animal Clinic.

After an investigation of the March incident by the Arcadia Police Department, Department of Children and Families, Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Florida State Attorney’s Office, Hope’s former owner, Larry Wallace, 66, was arrested on April 14, and charged with one count of cruelty to animals, a 3rd-degree felony, and one count of arson, a 2nd-degree felony.
