Dog Shot During Burglary of Boat Yard to Undergo Emergency Surgery at BluePearl Veterinary Hospital in Virginia Beach
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – A dog that was shot during the burglary of a boat yard early Friday morning in Norfolk is preparing to undergo emergency surgery at BluePearl Veterinary Partners specialty and emergency hospital in Virginia Beach.
Breezy, a five-year-old, female American pit bull, was guarding Norfolk Marine located at 5221 East Virginia Beach Boulevard when burglars shot her twice before stealing five boats on trailers, according to John Farlow, the service director at Norfolk Marine who also serves as the dog’s caretaker.
Norfolk Animal Control found Breezy and brought her into BluePearl Veterinary Partners specialty and emergency hospital located at 364 South Independence Boulevard in Virginia Beach.
According to Farlow, police are investigating and Norfolk Marine does have surveillance video of the suspects.
