Veterinary Emergency, Specialty Hospital to Open in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY – BluePearl Veterinary Partners is scheduled to open a new, state-of-the-art, emergency veterinary hospital at 139 NE 91st Street in Kansas City, Mo., Monday, with plans to offer specialty services in the near future.

The new hospital opens on Dec. 3 and will operate Monday through Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. and will be open each weekend from Friday at 6 p.m. until 8 a.m. on Monday.

The hospital will begin offering 24-hour service after the start of 2013. Additionally, the hospital will continue to add services not commonly found in most primary care veterinary practices. For example, BluePearl hospitals have sophisticated equipment such as endoscopes, which can be used in place of costly surgery if an animal has ingested something he or she shouldn’t have as long as it is treated early enough.

BluePearl also utilizes many tools found in human hospitals to provide critical diagnostics like X-rays, CT scans, MRIs and sonograms, all of which can be helpful when it comes to finding, treating and eliminating disease.

BluePearl veterinarians partner with family veterinarians to share clinical information about any medical services provided and make recommended future treatment plans.

“We are excited to provide a team of highly experienced veterinary specialists along with state-of-the-art facilities and tools to assist north Kansas City’s primary care veterinarians and their pet-owning clients with the prompt and responsive service they deserve,” said Dr. Jeff Dennis, one of BluePearl’s founders and the hospital administrator for BluePearl hospitals in Kansas and Missouri.

BluePearl has two other hospitals in the Kansas City area. They are located at 11950 West 110th Street in Overland Park and 3495 NE Ralph Powell Road in Lee’s Summit.
