Dr. Rachel Carlson grew up in a house full of pets. Passionate about shelter medicine, she feels it’s important to be the voice and advocate for animals because they can’t speak for themselves. As an emergency clinician, she knows the importance of helping clients make educated decisions at often difficult times. Skilled in all aspects of emergency medicine, Dr. Carlson is especially interested in acute trauma, wound management and all aspects of critical care.

Dr. Carlson volunteers in various shelters whenever she can. Originally from Florida, she loves surfing, traveling and biking. In New York City, she tries to eat all the food the city has to offer. Her dog, a miniature dachshund named Pickles, loves anyone who will pay attention to her.
