Tara Bellis, BVetMed, MRCVS, DACVECC
Specialist, Board Certified in Emergency and Critical Care
On The Job
Dr. Tara Bellis loves to travel, evident in her work history as an emergency and critical care clinician in South East England, London, California and New York City. Her grandparents’ farm in Scotland, one of her travel destinations as a child, is where she nurtured her love for animals and desire to become a veterinarian. She chose the emergency and critical care specialty because the anticipation of the unknown keeps emergency medicine thrilling for her, and the management of intensive care patients allows her to work with all the other specialties, prompting consistently thought-provoking discussions. Skilled in all aspects of emergency and critical care, Dr. Bellis’ particular interests include sepsis, respiratory disease, fluid therapy, mechanical ventilation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and transfusion medicine.
Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care
Residency, Emergency & Critical Care, BluePearl Veterinary Partners, NYC
Internship, Small Animal Medicine & Surgery, The Royal Veterinary College, Hatfield, UK
Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine, The Royal Veterinary College, Hatfield, UK
In addition to her love of travel, Dr. Bellis has a keen interest in photography and painting. A fan of the outdoors, she likes running, hiking, water sports and walking her dog, a mixed breed rescue named Chase, around New York City.
