Dr. Christian Eriksson started his career as a microbiologist with the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, with a keen interest in infectious diseases. He realized that veterinarians were very knowledgeable in this area, so he decided to make a switch. Dr. Eriksson enjoys internal medicine because of his interest in physiology and the variety of diseases that internists diagnose and treat. He has a particular interest in managing immune-mediated diseases, such as thrombocytopenia, Addison’s disease and immune-mediated hemolytic anemia, due to their favorable outcomes.
