Our oncology department focuses on the care and treatment of patients diagnosed with cancer. Not only do we strive to provide the most advanced, effective cancer therapies, but we also make it our goal to provide you with education about your pet’s specific condition so you can make informed decisions.
Our Commitment to our Clients
Compassion for the pet and the owner
Emotional turmoil and feelings of helplessness are common when a pet is diagnosed with cancer. We consider it our duty to make the process as painless as possible. We provide compassionate care for both pets and pet parents, and we make it our mission to treat you as apart of our own family.
Information and understanding of the pet’s condition
It is scary and stressful to learn that your pet has cancer. That’s why we make education and clear communication our top priorities in explaining the prognosis, treatment options, quality of life assessment and possible side effects. We aim to give you the tools you need to make the best decisions possible for your pet family.
Choices and avariety of treatment options
There are different treatment options for every cancer. We offer state-of-the-art cancer care, combining traditional methods with cutting edge technology. Our doctors have experience not only with veterinary cancer research, but also with several leading human oncology research centers, including the National Cancer Institute.
Combination andIntegration of all available treatments
When recommending treatment options, your oncologist considers all aspects of your pet’s health, including pain relief and nutrition. Many newer drugs have almost eliminated debilitating side effects and pain.
Quality of life
Quality of life is a top priority, especially in pets whose cancer is not curable. By aggressively preventing pain and side effects, we expect our patients to have a higher quality of life than they did prior to diagnosis. We also take the time to explain and answer questions regarding prognosis and timelines. We have many resources available for hospice and end of life decisions, if needed.
