Our internal medicine specialists are board-certified diplomates of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and have extensive experience and skill working with patients requiring advanced diagnostics and specialized care.
The practice of internal medicine encompasses a wide range of disorders, including hormonal abnormalities (such as diabetes), immune disorders, gastrointestinal diseases, chronic respiratory problems and urinary issues. Internal medicine specialists focus on the treatment and long-term management of these diseases, working in collaboration with your family veterinarian.
BluePearl’s internal medicine specialists have advanced diagnostic technology at their fingertips. They are skilled in endoscopic procedures and also work closely with our board-certified radiologist to obtain diagnostic images, such as ultrasounds and computed tomography (CT) scans. In addition, they collaborate with all clinical services, focusing on meeting your goals for your pet by providing remarkable care.
Internal medicine services offered include:
Diagnosis and treatment of complex medical conditions
Bone marrow aspirates and biopsies for evaluation of anemias and leukemias
Endoscopy for retrieval of ingested foreign objects and evaluation of the GI tract
Colonoscopy for the evaluation of the large bowel
Bronchoscopy and/or CT for evaluation of lower respiratory conditions
Rhinoscopy and/or CT for evaluation of chronic nasal discharge or other upper respiratory issues
Cystoscopy to evaluate the urinary tract
Ultrasound guided aspirates and biopsies of internal structures
The internal medicine service receives clients for case consultations and appointments six days per week at BluePearl Seattle.
