Veterinary Behavioral Medicine in Southfield, MI

A pet’s behavioral health can be just as important as physical health – that’s why we’re pleased to offer a compassionate behavioral medicine service at our BluePearl pet hospital in Southfield, MI. From preventing minor mishaps to diagnosing and treating major mental health complications, we work closely with every pet and owner to optimize your pet’s behavioral health and improve quality of life.

We take a comprehensive approach to veterinary behavioral medicine. First, we begin with a detailed behavioral history questionnaire and a 1.5-2 hour consultation to discuss your concerns. Then we develop a custom treatment plan specific to your pet’s behavioral needs. We’ll educate you on behavior modification, environmental changes and training tools to help guide you and your pet to behavioral success. If needed, we will also advise additional testing with your primary veterinarian or prescribe medications.

We establish a flexible communication process so it’s easy for you speak with us about concerns or ongoing training between appointments. We encourage recheck appointments to discuss improvements, concerns or changes in goals for you and your pet.
