Cathleen Meeks, DVM, DACVIM (Consulting)
Specialist, Board Certified in Veterinary Internal Medicine
On The Job
Initially an undergraduate criminology major, Dr. Cathleen Meeks also volunteered at a local pet rescue and veterinary clinic. She knew she needed to change career paths when her volunteering consumed eight hours a day, and she was still excited to do it without pay. She loves being a diagnostician and considers working up cases, diagnosing chronic conditions and giving patients relief very rewarding. Fond of all aspects of internal medicine including ultrasounds and endoscopies, she is particularly interested in diabetes mellitus and other endocrine conditions and gastroenterology.
Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine

Married to an equine veterinarian, Dr. Meeks loves fishing and traveling with her husband. They have visited the Dominican Republic, England, France, India and Ireland. An avid Gator fan, Dr. Meeks watches SEC football to keep up with her favorite teams. After the games, she turns her attention to the outdoors, enjoying kayaking, skiing, scalloping, swimming, cycling and running. Of course, she and her husband have pets. Lainey, their Doberman pinscher, is hyper and loves to eat everything. The exact opposite, Scrappy, is a wire-haired Jack Russell terrier who wants to be lazy all day.
