Intrigued by and passionate about animals from a young age, Dr. Eduardo Benjamin developed his passion for science, physiology and medicine as he grew up, so veterinary medicine was a natural career choice. He enjoys emergency medicine because it allows him to immediately help both pets and their owners. Dr. Benjamin is particularly interested in cardiovascular pathophysiology and finds managing congestive heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias and tamponade very rewarding.

Away from the hospital, Dr. Benjamin likes going out to dinner with his wife, shopping and visiting local parks. A sports fan, he enjoys watching basketball, football, and track and field; managing his fantasy football and basketball teams; and playing sports video games. The family pets include Ryu Alejandro, a male cat, and Pogo Emanuel, a male lab/beagle mix.
