Eric van Eerde, DVM
On The Job
Dr. Eric van Eerde grew up watching all types of animal reality shows. He knew he wanted to work with animals and found medicine to be a natural fit as he exceled in science classes. After three years in private practice, he was looking for something different. He chose diagnostic imaging because the field consists of a series of complex puzzles that need to be solved through reason and pattern recognition, and the field allows him the opportunity to collaborate with a wide range of other specialists. Dr. van Eerde’s particular interests include hand-on modalities such as ultrasound, as well as building relationships with referring veterinarians through telemedicine. He also enjoys working with a variety of animals and feels fortunate to have been able to take images of a number of species at the local zoo during his residency.
