Jennifer Welser, DVM, DACVO
Chief Medical Officer, BluePearl Veterinary Partners Specialist, Board Certified in Veterinary Ophthalmology
On The Job
Jennifer Welser, DVM, DACVO, is chief medical officer for BluePearl Veterinary Partners, nationwide. Dr. Welser knew from an early age that she wanted to be doctor and, as a child, would bring home wounded creatures and try to nurse them back to health. But, it wasn’t until she worked at Animal Eye Associates that she realized her love of ophthalmology.
Now, what she enjoys most as a veterinary ophthalmologist is using advanced technology to perform cataract surgery. She also professes, “What I like about ophthalmology too is how the eyeball is such a complex little organ that sometimes seems so separate from the rest of the body and sometimes is the window into the whole system.”
Prior to becoming our chief medical officer, Dr. Welser served as a medical director for BluePearl’s New York hospitals. She maintains a busy ophthalmology practice in New York, treating diseases and injuries of the eyes and surrounding tissue.
