On The Job
After a one-year internship focused on gaining a variety of experiences and knowledge in small animal medicine and surgery from seasoned mentors, Dr. Nicholas Gunter worked as a primary care veterinarian. He has now decided to focus on ophthalmology and joins the BluePearl team as an ophthalmology intern under the supervision of our board-certified specialists to further develop his ability to diagnose and treat ophthalmology cases.

Originally from Tennessee, Dr. Gunter moved to Florida to be close to the beach. Some of his hobbies include traveling, going to the movies and cooking. He also plays drums, guitar and piano and practices Judo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He has three furry companions: Charlie, his lab mix, likes to sleep and play with his bear; Oliver, the orange tabby cat, is loud and dramatic; and Howl, a tuxedo cat, is the epitome of laziness.
