Bone Stuck in Dog’s Mouth

My little Havanese had a bone stuck in the roof of his mouth. I tried to remove it, but it was pretty stuck. To be safe, I took him to Bluepearl in Manhattan just in case he might need sedatives or antibiotics. It was 2:30 am on Saturday and yet the entire staff was bright-eyed, sweet and non-judgmental.

A technician came to take down my pup’s basic info and then the vet, Dr. Vijay Nair, came to the room to give me a brief overview of my options. I was impressed that I did not have to repeat myself twice, it was clear that the technician had thoroughly briefed him of the situation before he came into the room.

They took him downstairs and removed the bone effortlessly. Fortunately, neither sedatives or antibiotics were necessary. When the doctor brought him back upstairs, my dog was in fact very wiggly and happy. To him, the trip was a lovely mini-midnight adventure.

The entire visit took less than 40 minutes from check-in to check-out. Dr. Nair also followed up with a very detailed discharge report. The staff was just amazing and in fact, on my way out, I saw a different technician gently walking another dog that was a surgery patient at 3 am.

Thank you again and impressive facilities!
