Prepared for the Worst, But Got Good News

My nine-year-old shepherd mix dog was treated by our regular vet for an infected/abcessed anal gland. The vet was concerned that even after the infection was treated, there was a thickened wall. She thought it may be cancerous and referred us to Internist Dr. Luria at BluePearl in Clearwater, FL.

He examined Raider and got a second opinion from the oncologist. Both vets concurred that it was not necessary to remove the anal gland as they believed it was not abnormal. Dr. Luria was glad to give me good news as I was prepared for the worst. RaiderĀ and I both felt better when we walked out the door of the clinic!
