When I brought our sick 5 1/2 pound yorkie, Rocky, in on a Sunday evening, his legs were collapsing. He was flinching continually, as if in sharp pain. First guesses were possibly poisoning or a brain tumor. We were devastated.
A blood panel test revealed very low calcium, which can cause such frightening symptoms. Rocky was put on an IV and dosed with calcium for 5 days. The next day, principal vet Sean Teichner supervised Rocky’s treatment; he was wonderful, giving us regular updates. When we took Rocky home 5 days later, the scary symptoms were gone.
We are grateful to Dr. Teichner and all the vets and staff. We wish Dr. T well on his return to MN.
