Dr. Aimee Rome decided to be a veterinarian at a young age. She chose emergency medicine because of the variety of cases she is able to treat and the challenge of thinking quickly while staying calm under pressure. Her clinical interests include anaphylaxis, toxicities and endocrine diseases.

Dr. Rome’s favorite pastimes include drawing, painting and playing video games, at which she admits to being very competitive. She has a houseful of pets: Leo, a Goffin’s cockatoo, rules the house; Callie, an 80 pound mixed-breed dog was adopted from one of her clients when she was a veterinary technician; Binx, a long-haired white cat, was adopted during vet school; and Ellie, a tortie cat, is Binx’s partner in crime.
