About us.

Founded in 1996, BluePearl Pet Hospital is one of the largest specialty and emergency veterinary practices in the U.S. today. BluePearl has more than 100 hospitals in 29 states that together employ 7,000+ Associates, including 1,330+ veterinarians, 1,600+ veterinary technicians, and 4,100+ other professionals. Each year, our compassionate teams provide high-quality care for more than 1.1 million pets and their families. BluePearl clinicians also participate in clinical studies to discover new treatments and procedures that improve pet health.

As part of the Mars Veterinary Health family of brands, BluePearl is committed to its purpose — A BETTER WORLD FOR PETS® — because pets make a better world for us.

BluePearl Science.

To provide the highest standard of patient care and contribute advanced knowledge to the veterinary community, BluePearl Science, a division of BluePearl, coordinates exploratory clinical studies. These clinical studies investigate the efficacy of new drugs, treatments and protocols intended to improve pet health. This offers local veterinarians and their patient’s access to treatments that are not yet commercially available. Findings of BluePearl Science studies have been published in renowned academic journals, including the Journal of Veterinary Surgery.

Our social responsibility.

Exceptional care is our mission, but we firmly believe the foundation of veterinary medicine is compassion. In 1999, BluePearl’s co-founder, Dr. Neil Shaw, grew BluePearl as both a company and corporate citizen in creating Frankie’s Friends—a charity helping save pets’ lives through grants that assist with emergency or specialty care for pets whose families cannot afford the full cost of treatment.
