Vice President of Medicine at BluePearl joins colleague Dr. Virginia Sinnott-Stutzman on emergency and critical care board.
Tampa, Florida, Nov. 19, 2024 – Today, BluePearl™, proudly part of the Mars Veterinary Health family of businesses, announced that vice president of medicine, Lauren Harris, DVM, DACVECC, has joined the American College of Veterinary Emergency Critical Care (ACVECC) as a regent at large. Dr. Harris joins Virginia Sinnott-Stutzman, DVM, DACVECC, director of clinical programs at BluePearl, who became a regent at large at ACVECC in September 2023.
ACVECC is the AVMA-recognized organization for certification of veterinarians in the field of veterinary emergency and critical care. Regents at large are board certified specialists in emergency and critical care who have undergone specialized training. Each year, two new members are added as ACVECC regents at large.

In the role of regent at large, Dr. Harris and Dr. Sinnott-Stutzman, along with four other regents and the officers, help to oversee the professional affairs as well as the overall management of the business. The Council of Regents maintains and votes on initiatives and activities of all committees, as well as issuing and ensuring appropriate certification of its members.
Dr. Harris joined BluePearl in 2011 as a veterinary intern after graduating from Auburn University. She achieved board certification in 2015, before becoming the medical director at BluePearl Clearwater in 2016 and medical director for BluePearl Florida hospitals in 2020. In 2021, Dr. Harris became the vice president of medicine for the west at BluePearl and in 2024 was promoted to vice president of medicine for the entire company.
