Dr. Janice Buback became board certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1997. She provides orthopedic, soft tissue and minimally invasive surgery, including laparoscopy and thoracoscopy procedures.

Dr. Buback is passionate about using her surgical skills to help pets with:

• Arthritis, laryngeal paralysis and severe ear infections
• Elbow or hip dysplasia, cryptorchid testicles and cleft palates
• Brachycephalic airway disease and ectopic ureters
• Foreign body ingestion and gastric dilatation volvulus (bloat)
• Fractures, ligament and tendon injuries, bite wounds and gunshot wounds

For pets with cancer, Dr. Buback and her surgery team work closely with the oncology service to provide the best treatment and care.

Dr. Buback enjoys spending time with her family camping, canoeing in the Boundary Waters, watching and participating in sports, reading and playing board games.

Dr. Kevin Byl has been practicing as a board-certified internist for over 12 years and has exceptional skills at scoping procedures and performing cystoscopies. He finds endoscopy and urinary disorders the most gratifying to treat.

Dr. Byl is married and shares his home with his 4-year-old son, an elderly cat and a dog.

Dr. Thomas Hanson has more than 50 years of experience in human and veterinary radiology. He enjoys combining advanced technology with compassionate care to help diagnose medical conditions in companion animals. Working alongside our specialists and emergency medicine team, he ensures timely communication of vital diagnostic information regarding your pet’s care.

Dr. Hanson has a passion for old-school film photography, and outside the hospital, he enjoys spending time with his family, including two Newfoundland dogs.

Dr. Rachel Reiman is interested in all aspects of veterinary oncology and is passionate about educating her clients on their pets’ conditions and treatment options.

Dr. Elke Rudloff provides holistic comfort care, individualized pain management and gentle euthanasia services in the home. She finds it highly rewarding to bring a family together that may be at odds about the quality of life of their beloved pet. She is grateful for the impact she has on her patients and their families when she can mitigate the pain and discomfort that come with acute and chronic illness and injury. The best way she knows how to use her specialized skills is by creating a peaceful and gentle passing for a beloved pet in the comfort of their home.

Dr. Megan Tremelling has been working in emergency medicine for over 20 years. She finds diabetic crises, blocked cats and cases of a round bone stuck on a dog’s jaw the most gratifying to treat.
