Our emergency team is made up of veterinarians, vet technicians and assistants, and support staff with rigorous training and experience in specialty medicine. The team works hand in hand to provide the comprehensive, compassionate care your pet needs and deserves. Because we’re a multidisciplinary hospital, the team can consult the expertise of other specialty departments, too.
Dr. Obaid Ullah has a particular interest in cardiovascular and renal disease.
Dr. Ullah loves spending time with his wife, who has a PhD in molecular biology, and his son and daughter. The family enjoys traveling both within the United States and abroad.
Dr. Michael Villanueva remembers when his family dog was hit by a car; he was six years old. The veterinarian made such an impression on him that he decided to become a veterinarian. He worked at a local primary care veterinary clinic in high school and for six years as an emergency and intensive care unit technician at the veterinary hospital at Texas A&M University, an experience that set him on the path to becoming an emergency clinician. He is particularly interested in toxicity and trauma cases.
Dr. Villanueva spends his free time with his wife and son doing anything that keeps his son busy. The family has three pets: a dachshund named Skeeter and two cats, Nemo and Belle.
Dr. Jack Ying loves the challenge and rewards of emergency medicine, especially surgical procedures like GDVs, intestinal blockages, urinary blockages and wound repair.
Dr. Ying, his wife and son enjoy watching movies, cooking and eating, swimming and going to the beach. They have four pets: rescued bloodhound mix Cooper, yorkie mix Ainsley, husky/retriever mix Bailey, and cat Bubba.
