Our surgery team is made up of veterinarians, vet technicians and assistants, and support staff with rigorous training and experience in specialty medicine. The team works hand in hand to provide the comprehensive, compassionate care your pet needs and deserves. Because we’re a multidisciplinary hospital, the team can consult the expertise of other specialty departments, too.
Dr. Courtney Bounds is most interested in orthopedic procedures, particularly minimally invasive fracture stabilization and arthroscopy. She also enjoys managing complex wounds and polytrauma, with her favorite procedure being an emergency c-section because she can save several lives in one procedure.
Outside of the operating room, Dr. Bounds enjoys spending time with her partner, their two dogs (Huckleberry and Henri) and Maine coon (Baya). As an active family, they enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring new restaurants, bouldering and finding new activities to experience together. She is also an avid reader, especially enjoying fantasy and sci-fi novels.
Dr. Sarah Christie loves orthopedic surgery, especially related to fracture repair, joint replacement and TPLO procedures for ACL disease in dogs. She also enjoys thoracic and abdominal procedures, especially in oncology cases.
Dr. Christie has taken additional courses to further her surgical skills and hopes to offer total hip replacement surgery in the future.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Christie loves being outdoors and playing any sport she can, even picking up curling while living in Michigan and golfing with her husband. She also enjoys watching football, especially Alabama Crimson Tide and Detroit Lions games. Dr. Christie and her husband have a dog and cat at home who rule the house.
Dr. Meghan Kruse’s special interests include minimally invasive, urinary and soft tissue surgeries, as well as wound management.
In her free time, Dr. Kruse enjoys spending time with family, repairing small engines, swimming with her local swim team and traveling to new places.
Dr. David Lee is most interested in orthopedic surgery, particularly surgical stabilization of the knee following cranial cruciate ligament rupture and joint replacement.
Dr. Lee enjoys woodworking, working about the house and watching his two sons play ultimate frisbee.
