DVMDr. Jared Brethouwer enjoys all aspects of emergency medicine and has a special interest in cardiopulmonary medicine and blood disorders.
Dr. Brethouwer is the medical director of all BluePearl Pet Hospitals in the greater Phoenix area.

Billie Ciotti
DVMDr. Billie Ciotti enjoys the variety of cases seen in emergency medicine. Her professional interests include snake envenomation and urethral obstruction.

Kyrsten Gibson
MS, DVMDr. Kyrsten Gibson is a small animal medicine & surgery intern. She craves emergency and critical care cases. Her goal is to travel between Texas and Arizona as a small animal criticalist with involvement in large animal emergencies.

In her free time, Dr. Gibson enjoys hiking, wake boarding, reading and traveling. She has a black lab named Wrigley, a mini Aussie named Ryleigh and a pocket pittie named Remi. Dr. Gibson was born and raised in Texas and returns when possible to visit family.
William Linney
DVM, DACVS-SAThroughout his over 30-year career, Dr. William Linney has developed a strong respect for primary veterinarians and their relationships with their clients. Dr. Linney has given lectures on surgery to colleagues around the country and has helped train many interns and residents, several of whom are also now board-certified surgeons. He has been published in the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association regarding surgical techniques for the repair of patellar luxation.
Dr. Linney enjoys all aspects of orthopedic, neurologic, and soft-tissue surgery. He routinely performs a diverse range of procedures, including:
- Soft tissue mass removal (cancerous and noncancerous)
- Orthopedic surgery including medial patellar luxation (MPL), fracture repair, tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO)
- Spinal surgery for intervertebral disc disease (IVDD)
- Urogenital surgery for bladder stones, pyometra, Cesarean sections
- Thoracotomy such as lung lobectomy to remove a lung lobe, pericardiectomy to remove some or all of the sac around the heart, mediastinal (the space in the chest between the lungs and the spine) mass removal, thymoma (tumor of the thymus, located between the lungs) removal
- Hernia repair
- Total ear canal ablation for ear canal thickening and recurrent ear infections
- Surgery for brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome (BOAS)
- Surgery for congenital conditions like dysplasia or heart defects such as patent ductus arteriosus (PDA)
- Emergency surgery for foreign body ingestion, trauma, injury
- Surgery for gallbladder conditions

Kathryn McAdam
BVM&SDr. Kathryn McAdam finds many aspects of emergency work satisfying, but her favorite cases are foreign body surgeries. She also likes treating cats with urinary obstructions and removing foxtails, a spiny weed, from pets’ body parts.
