Dr. Felix finds acute trauma and stabilization, cardiopulmonary emergencies, and endocrine disorders particularly gratifying to treat. She also has strong clinical interests in soft tissue surgery, diagnostic imaging and exotic animal medicine.

Elena Pfisterer
DVMDr. Elena Pfisterer is a resident in our surgery service. Dr. Pfisterer’s professional interests include complex fracture repair, angular limb deformities, total hip replacements, and thoracic surgery.

Michael Reems
DVM, MS, DACVSDr. Michael Reems is particularly interested in both surgical oncology, including cancer removal and reconstruction, and minimally invasive surgery such as arthroscopy, laparoscopy and thoracoscopy. He has performed urinary bladder stone, lung lobe tumor, adrenal gland/mass, cryptorchid retained testicle, and gall bladder removals minimally invasively, in addition to prophylactic gastropexy fixation of stomach for prevention of gastric-dilatation volvulus and laparoscopic liver biopsy. He has also completed specialized training in circular external skeletal fixation fracture repair, tibial tuberosity advancement (TTA), and tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO) procedures for anterior cruciate ligament tears.

Taylor Thompson

She loves being able to solve a puzzle and get answers to unique questions. Dr. Thompson also has a strong interest in neurologic conditions that can be treated surgically or managed medically.

She has two cats: one named Manny, who was adopted in St. Kitts during her time at veterinary school, and one named Dominik, who was adopted in Indiana during her clinical rotation.
Jeffrey Turn
DVMDr. Jeffrey Turn is a small animal medicine & surgery intern. He has a particular interest in zoological and aquatic veterinary medicine. He’s also interested in the use of apitherapy products (medical honey, propolis or honeybee venom) for the treatment of diseases in veterinary species.

Currently, Dr. Turn is writing an animal encyclopedia which has over 80 articles. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, exploring new places, swimming, computer game programming and design, singing, voice impressions, playing the saxophone and spending time with friends and family. His favorite animal is the emerald elysia, a photosynthetic sea slug that incorporates chloroplasts from the algae it eats into its own cells.
Eric Van Eerde
DVM, DACVRDr. Eric van Eerde’s particular interests include hand-on modalities such as ultrasound, as well as building relationships with referring veterinarians through telemedicine. He also enjoys working with a variety of animals and feels fortunate to have been able to take images of a number of species at the local zoo during his residency.
