With Casey Until His Last Breath

Sunday, November 28, 2021, was a very sad and shocking day for our family. My 16-year-old orange boy, Casey, collapsed and was struggling to breathe. With the combination of COVID restrictions and it being Thanksgiving weekend, I was at a total loss as to who to turn to for help.
BluePearl Pet Hospital in Richmond was recommended by my long-time pet sitter who works in the veterinary field and has known Casey all his life. A phone call was placed, and we were told to come immediately given his symptoms.
Upon arrival, the reception was pleasant and Casey was taken in immediately to be examined. While losing a pet is NEVER easy, the staff made the process of crossing over the Rainbow Bridge as compassionate as possible. All of the medical staff were kind and listened to my wishes so that first Casey was made comfortable and then I could be with him until his last breath.
As difficult as this continues to be, I thank each and every Associate at BluePearl in Richmond, Virginia for helping both Casey and me during this traumatic situation.
