Meet the Massachusetts Vet Tech of the Year
Waltham, Massachusetts – Jennifer James, a longtime veterinary technician at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Waltham, has been named Veterinary Technician of the Year by the Massachusetts Veterinary Technician Association.
James is known in BluePearl’s Waltham hospital for her “exceptional positive and uplifting attitude,” as BluePearl’s Laura Champagne said in her nominating letter.
James, a certified veterinary technician, works with interns and new employees, guides them in hospital-specific protocols and never tires of answering questions and working to make BluePearl’s veterinary care even better. “She is truly calm under pressure, but occasionally is known to lighten the mood on the hospital floor with a little bit of dancing!”
BluePearl’s hospitals in Waltham and Charlestown offer 24-hour emergency care, 365 days a year. BluePearl also offers advanced specialty veterinary care in such areas as surgery, cardiology, ophthalmology, internal medicine and more.
“As one of our senior veterinary technicians, Jennifer is one of the hardest workers I know and one of my favorite people to work with,” said Dr. Kristina DePaula, medical director of BluePearl in Waltham. “No matter how busy we are or how sick a patient is, I can always count on her to make sure all the patients are getting amazing care. She goes above and beyond and does so with a smile on her face, and we are so lucky to have her as part of our team.
