Our very own Chief Information Officer, Pauline Bell, DVM, hosted Katie Couric and NFL star and animal advocate Logan Ryan to our Clearwater BluePearl Pet Hospital last month for a feature on Unleashed with Katie Couric.
Few things bind people together like a shared love of pets, and Logan Ryan and his wife Ashley are a testament to that. In the newest episode of “Unleashed with Katie Couric,” the two-time Super Bowl champion and his wife welcomed Katie into their home to meet their beloved dogs, Nala and Leo.
They chatted about their shared love of pets, their dogs’ relationship with their children and their Ryan Animal Rescue Foundation, which partners with animal welfare organizations nationwide to promote adoption and provide financial and educational opportunities to better the lives of animals.
During the conversation the couple emphasized the importance of diversity in the animal welfare space, which led them to a visit with Pauline at our Clearwater hospital. Logan and Ashley have been big supporters of BluePearl ever since their dog Leo received life-saving treatment at our Franklin, Tennessee hospital.
During the Clearwater visit, Pauline spoke with the Ryans and Katie about the lack of diversity in the veterinary field and the important steps we are taking in partnership with Mars Veterinary Health (MVH) and Banfield and VCA to ensure our industry is more diverse and representative of the communities we serve.
