Our cardiology team is made up of veterinarians, vet technicians and assistants, and support staff with rigorous training and experience in specialty medicine. The team works hand in hand to provide the comprehensive, compassionate care your pet needs and deserves. Because we’re a multidisciplinary hospital, the team can consult the expertise of other specialty departments, too.
Dr. Catherine Gunther-Harrington has over 15 publications including topics of cardiac imaging in bulldogs and cardiac effects seen in cats who were burned in California wildfires. She has served as an assistant professor of clinical cardiology at the University of California.
Her professional interests include cardiac imaging, congenital cardiac defects and management of refractory congestive heart failure. She tailors medical management to fit each patient’s disease with an emphasis on quality of life.
In her spare time, Dr. Gunther-Harrington enjoys snowboarding, wakeboarding, surfing and exploring the outdoors with her family. She has three dogs, Daisy, Chester and Betty White, who is a bulldog with a heart condition called pulmonic stenosis.
