Kelsey Human, DVM
On The Job
Dr. Kelsey Human knew from the start of her veterinary career that she wanted to be a surgeon because she finds it rewarding to be able to get sick or injured pets back on their feet. After completing two internships with BluePearl, she decided to stay in BluePearl’s teaching program as a surgical resident. Similar to a physician’s track toward board certification, a veterinary residency lasts several years and will provide her with a deeper understanding of surgery. Dr. Human has a strong interest in orthopedic and soft tissue procedures, postoperative pain management and physical rehabilitation.

Dr. Human loves to dive into new activities with great enthusiasm, from knitting to bread baking and working out. She also enjoys activities with her husband, especially training at the gym, hiking, rock climbing, rollerblading, watching documentaries and cooking. Fascinated by small ruminants and camelids, she hopes to have a hobby farm one day to raise them. Dr. Human’s two Bengal cats, Bonsai and Koi, have traveled the world with her. They love to talk, run on their giant cat wheel and stalk bottle caps.
